Title Safety Engineer 
Job Description

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science
Safety Engineer performing system safety analysis on advanced railway signaling systems and products. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary product development team analyzing new and legacy product designs to insure appropriate levels of risk reduction. Advise design teams on safety concepts, hazard mitigation approaches, and lead product and application safety certification efforts to international standards CENELEC EN50126 and EN 50129.

- Ability to perform Functional and Operational Hazard Analyses of complex systems composed of embedded controllers, hardware, software and mechanical subsystems, using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in System Safety Engineering with a demonstrated ability to execute safety engineering techniques, processes and procedures.

- System Modeling and Hazard analysis using Fault Trees and Markov Models.
- Preliminary Hazard Analysis and system safety concept evaluations.
- Review or develop Failure Modes and Effect Analysis including qualitative and quantitative criticality analysis.
- Safety Program Planning and Management.
- Possess good organizational and problem solving skills.
- Experience interfacing with customers and regulatory authorities including Independent Safety Assessors.
- Prior experience developing Application Safety Cases for European Signaling Projects using CENELEC 50126 and 50129 Standards.
- Working knowledge of European Signaling and requirements for system commissioning of interlocking and track circuit products in European rail systems.
